The Nullarbor

Et c'est parti pour 1200km de route dans le Nullarbor, region arride dont le nom vient du latin Nullus Arbor qui signifie sans arbres. Et oui car une grande partie du plus grand fragment unique de calcaire au monde (200 000km2) est sans arbres !

it's on for 1200km of driving in the Nullarbor, dry area where the name come from Latin No Tree, Cause a big part of the biggest segment of calcaire of the world (200 000km2) is without tree!

Jusqu'a la frontiere pour le western Australia il y a 500km a parcourir !

Till the border of the Western Australia there's 500km to go!

On a fait le plein d'eau et de nourriture et surtout de carburant car il peut y avoir plus de 100 a 200km entre des stations services

We're full of water, food and most of all Fuel cause you can have 100 to 200km between 2 petrol station

1er panneau : attention aux animaux

Bon au moins on sait a quoi s'attendre

Well at least we know what to expect

Direction Esperance, le GPS ne nous remonte pas le moral!!! La route va être longue

To Esperance, the GPS doesn't make us feel good ! The road is going to be hard

Et oui il y a meme des dromadaires !

Charles est devant ! On roule a 80km/h alors on a le temps de penser et puis il fait pas super beau,la route commence a être longue

Charles's up front ! We're driving at 80km/h so we have time to think and it's not a really good weather, road is starting to be long

Pour ma defense, il n'est pas facile de mange un gateau en miette et surtout quand juju conduit!!

For my defense, it's not easy to eat a crumble cakes especially when Juju is driving

Un plateau pour voir les falaises située a seulement une centaine de metres de la route

A place to sea the cliffs located just a hundred meters from the road

Ben oui fallait bien faire une photo avec un des panneaux, mais on reste pas trop longtemps dehors c'est plein de moustiques et petites mouches

Yeah we had to take a pictures with one of the board, but we can't stay too long oustide of the car cause it's full of the mousticos and little flies

Passage de la frontiere South Australia vers Western Australia, attention, ils ont une liste d'aliment a ne pas avoir dans la voiture. Et ils regardent partout dans les véhicules, tout le monde doit s'arrêter. Comme toujours Juliette a encore son miel ( de Tasmanie) et bien sur cela est strictement interdit!!!! 

Border Area between South Australia and Western Australia, careful they have a food list to don't bring into the state. They're looking everywhere in the car and in every car.

Pf course Juju has still her honey (from Tasmania) And still prohibited !

Mais comme elle veut le garde pour encore 1 an car cela est pour son papa qui est en France que l'on vera pas avant ete 2016 alors on l'a cache dans la voiture ( et on va devoir promené tout LES miels dans tout le pays). 

But like she wants to keep it for another year cause it's for her daddy who's in France and we won't see him until summer 2016, he hid it in the car ( we're going to have to drive around avery honey in Australia Yeah)

Mais avant de regarde dans ta voiture, ils te donnent un papier qui veut dire en gros, qui si tu passes cette frontiere, tu t'engages a ne pas avoir les produits de la liste. Et si ils trouvent un produit de la liste, pas bien. Et on peut voir que les gens ne rigolent pas avec cela et tout le monde donne son miel. Mais pas nous !!

Before to look into your car they make you read the list of the food that you're not allowed to brought in, Like that you can't say that you didn't know and if they find one of this in your car you're screwed !

We can see that people don't joke with that ! But not us Juju's honey is important

Little break cause we're hungry, cold and guys are tired of driving

Il pleut alors on reste sous le coffre

It's raining so we stay under  cover

MMM on peut dire qu'on voit loin

Et maintenant voila qu'il y a des autruches ! ou émeu peut etre

And now there's even autruche, or maybe it's emeu

Allez cela fait plus de 10h qu'on roule c'est le temps de s'arrêter avant qu'il ne fasse nuit

Come on it's been 10h that we're driving so it's time to stop before it's dark

Pas grand monde c'est bien et en plus il fait beau

Alors voila un caravan park payant appartenant a une sorte de motel a cote d'une des rares stations services du Nullarbor, ben cela me ferait Ch... de payer pour pouvoir passer la nuit sur ce terrain vague !

So here's a caravan park joined at a motel in a petrol stations.

It would make me pissed to pay to just park and sleep in the park 

Faire aussi tres attention quand on veut double un camion car ce n'est pas les petits camions de chez nous!!!! Mais cela fait encore plus peur quand ils te doublent. Et comme on roulait a 80km/h c'est eux qui nous doublaient !

Be very careful when you overtake a truck cause it's not the same that we have at home

Scarier when it's them who's overtaking you, and like we're only driving at 80km/h it's mostly the case

 

Bon, on va jusqu'a Perth!!!

Okay let's go to Perth

Voila on est dans la plus longue ligne droite au monde ! 186,6km sans avoir a tourner le volant

Here we are in the longest straight road in the world ! 186,6 km without turning your stirring wheel

Y'a toujours des fous ! En voila qui font le Nullarbor en velo, bien sur ils ont un bus derriere eux

Always crazy people ! Here some who's biking in the Nullarbor, of course they have the bus behind them

Au debut, on s'est demande pourquoi les passages piétons étaient aussi grand? et puis au milieu de nulle part! Alors? Et ben non, cela veut dire que des avions peuvent atterrir si, alors faire attention!!!!

At the beginning we were asking ourself why they were crossroads for walker so huge in the middle of nowhere. Well it's for the plane if they need to land.

Pas beaucoup de circulation

Ah voila quelques arbres !

Nous voila arriver a Norseman ! ville miniere située a la fin du Nullarbor

Here we are in Norseman ! Mining City located at the end of Nullarbor

On passe la nuit a une aire a quelques km apres Norseman car les gars en ont marre de conduire ! 

( j'ai remplace Nico de temps en temps)

We staying the night few kms from Norseman cause the guys are sick to drive !

( I helped Nick driving sometimes)

Finalement on est bien content d'avoir acheter nos supers chapeaux car les mouches sa va bien 5 minutes.

Finally we're glad to have bought our great hats cause the flies it's okay but only for 5mins

Pas de chance pour notre Charlito' qui n'a rien, enfin si une ......... pour une chambre.

Not lucky our Charlito doesn't have one of them, actually yes ... but one for a bedroom

Un petit feu histoire de faire partir les moustiques et de ce mettre bien.

Et nous voila encore repartie pour quelques Kms, direction Esperance. Il ne fait pas super beau alors espérons qu'arrive la bas le soleil sera au rendez-vous

And it's on again for few kms to Esperance. It's not a nice weather so let's hope that till we arrive there the sun'll be there
